A river walk, a real dinner and a show in Stuart
Put three good things close together: time by the water, dinner you do not have to rush and a performance worth putting your phone away for. This compact downtown route works especially well for an anniversary or a first proper night out in a while.
Your time, together.

Begin along Stuart’s Riverwalk
Start at Riverwalk Park behind City Hall and stroll by the St. Lucie River. Use this first stretch to talk before the rest of the night becomes a schedule. Take a short loop so you arrive at dinner relaxed.

Settle into dinner at The Gafford
Reserve the dining room at 47 SW Flagler Avenue and tell your server you have theater tickets. The dining room opens at 5 p.m.; the bar starts earlier. Order something you will enjoy slowly rather than trying to fit in an elaborate meal before curtain.

Finish at The Lyric Theatre
Walk to 59 SW Flagler Avenue for the performance you booked. Choose blues, jazz, classic rock or a seasonal show to match your shared taste. The nearby addresses make this a date with very little driving between stops.

The details that make it easy.
- Book first
- Buy your Lyric seats first, then reserve dinner. Restaurant and performance are separate bookings. The Gafford is closed Mondays and has a dress policy; verify any holiday changes.
- Budget for two
- Riverwalk is free. Add your actual dinner, theater tickets, tax, tip and any parking; show and menu prices vary. This is an independently planned itinerary, not a bundled ticket.
- Getting around
- Park once in a permitted downtown space and walk between stops. Check signs and time limits. If you are drinking, arrange a ride rather than moving the car between venues.
- Weather & comfort
- Move directly to dinner if rain makes the Riverwalk unpleasant. The meal and show give you an indoor evening even when the first stop needs to be shortened.
- If plans change
- If your chosen show sells out, select another published performance before reserving dinner. Do not assume same-day seats will appear.
