Fort Lauderdale · Dinner & a show
Art, a riverside table, and a theater finale
Turn one ticket into a whole afternoon together: choose a favorite artwork, linger over an early dinner, then let the stage take over.
Your time, together.
3 p.m.
Choose your own art tour at NSU Art Museum
Give yourselves an hour to wander. Each choose one work you would take home if you could, then explain the choice. The museum lists Tuesday–Saturday hours of 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

An early dinner at The House on the River
Reserve a table at the historic riverside restaurant and tell the host your curtain time. Dinner is offered Wednesday–Sunday from 4 p.m.; an outdoor table is a request, not a guarantee.

Choose the show that sounds like both of you
Pick the actual performance before making other reservations: a musical, jazz concert, ballet or comedy evening. Aim to reach the theater at least 30 minutes before curtain.

The details that make it easy.
- Book first
- Book the show first, then dinner, then museum admission. Match the reservation to the actual curtain time; shows do not run nightly.
- Budget for two
- Museum adult admission is listed at $16 each; add dinner, two show tickets and transport. Seat choice determines much of the total.
- Getting around
- The stops are in downtown Fort Lauderdale, but allow time for a river crossing and walking. Compare a single parking location with rideshare. Parking is separate from admission.
- Weather & comfort
- Request indoor dinner seating if storms are likely and skip the river walk in lightning.
- If plans change
- If the show is sold out, keep the museum and dinner, then make the conversation the evening's main event. Do not assume another performance has walk-up seats.
